Magzine draft

  1. I really like how you've set the magazine has because it represents the chosen genre. The fonts are well chosen because they look smart and give a professional style to the magazine. Maybe the background on the contents page could match the photo?;) Either way this is a great example of a draft magazine!

  2. This is great Jake! The 60 minute cover challenge you made seems similar to this, but is still different is some ways. You should maybe recreate the 60 minute task again, but use the photograph of Connor? Other than that, great work! I love the double page spread and its simplicity.

  3. I like your cover as it is clean and professional looking. The colour scheme suits your genre and looks good. Your contents is laid out well; however maybe include a 'contents' title and make sure you highlight all your names or none as it looks messy with certain ones highlighted in an unordered pattern. Your double page spread looks fresh and your article is interesting and well written. Keep up the good work!

  4. I really like the design of your magazine, it's consistent, simple and effective. I think the images you have used are well composed and placed well. However, I feel like the white text looks slightly washed out against the grey background so you could maybe try having the text in a bolder colour such as black or you could maybe change the font and put it into bold so that it stands out more? You could also try changing the background colour so that it's slightly darker so it stands out against the white text. This is a really good start, well done!

  5. I like the simplicity of your magazine and I feel that the colour scheme matches this. Really like your cover but be careful with the image as it seems to be a little bit blurry, apart from that great first attempt !

  6. I really like your magazine drafts as a whole as they are very simple and effective. I like the layout of your double page but maybe try and blend the colours together so it looks more natural.

  7. I like the lay out of the double page spread but it could be improved by having the two pages the same colour, the same for your contents as the photo looks a bit out of place. I really like your front cover (even if the photo is blurry) it looks neat, organised and professional. well done Jake

  8. the design for your front cover is very good and i like the simplicity used. I would possibly reconsider the images used throughout the magazine as they are blurred. the design on your contents needs quite a lot of attention as it looks rushed. your DPS design is very nice. However, the background of the magazine doesn't match the image which doesn't look very professional. This is the same with the contents.

  9. I like the clean and simplistic look of the cover however I would consider using more people in your pictures rather than just one person.

  11. I would reorganise your mast head so that the title is at the top and the other items are below it. I would add text onto the cover to fill the blank space as well as making Cole Cresent bigger to make it stand out more on the page. Your contents page needs improving as it looks plain and basic, spend more time on this page as it is the hardest to design. Your double page spread layout is good, I would just add more text on the article to fill the blank space towards the bottom and maybe add another image into that article of another person to mix up the variety in photos and give the article and interesting element to it.

  12. I like the approach you have taken with your magazine and the style that your trying to implement. Your contents page could be revised to look more professional. I would also re-organised your masthead so the items are placed a more appropriate way. I would also fill out the rest of the page of the double page spread with more text to get rid of the black space you have.

  13. I like this because it is very effective even though it is very simple. I love the grey background I think it would definitely compliment the cover page.

  15. The cover is a good first draft, and it is laid out well. However the photo on the cover is blurred, so a new one will need to be used. The contents is very simplistic and a little bit bland, but the idea is good. Maybe another picture could be sued to make it more interesting. The double page spread looks good and the article is interesting. More needs to be added to the article but it is a good first draft overall.

  16. The photo on your front cover is blurry so you could consider another photo. The pages all work well together and looks very professional, I would look at adding more text to your contents and double page spread. You may want to change the white text to black to make it stand out on the images, very good first draft overall.

With your cover page the image is slightly blurred, however i like the design and layout you have chosen. For improvement you could add more text to your cover, overall a very good draft magazine, well done!
